ABSTRACT
Based on a renovation project of converting an existing workshop in Tianjin Meiya Factory into the “Creative Showroom for the Grand Canal”, this article explore a set of premises, strategies and methodologies for the rehabilitation of the industrial heritages under the conditions of the new era, and proposes a higher spiritual dimension of “a workshop, a palace” for developing the existing properties.
