Jiangba Town in Huai’an, Jiangsu Province, boasts a rich historical legacy, encompassing both grand narratives of hydraulic engineering and the subtle daily life shaped by its proximity to water. We aim to aggregate the town’s historical and cultural resources, uncover their cultural depth, and select a series of representative public spaces as entry points. Through an “Architectural Spatial Practice Exhibition,” we propose to reshape these spaces, integrating them into Jiangba’s revitalization plan. Through such projects, we attempt to sketch a new vision for Chinese towns and villages—one where history and the present, the grand and the mundane, the local and the external, coexist, co-create, and evolve collaboratively.
