ABSTRACT Nanshan Marriage Registration Center heralds the conception of a new architectural typology. Seeking to bring a new identity to the process of marriage registration. The architect’s design re-establishes the ceremonial sense of marriage, thereby creating a urban public space for the collective memories of citizens while also redefining the bureaucratic stereotype of government agencies.
